Bandroom Improvements 2020- Project 1. Updated 1.12.20

Project One involves removing /renewing the rotten outer & inner skins of the building from the store room door round to the kitchen door. Removing the interior wall between the back of the store room / back of bar creating an L shaped storage area which will then be fitted out with shelving (existing / new)  for all the spare instruments and equipment (leaving the main room much clearer). Finally a new wall will be built right across the back of the bar, which can then be decorated and equipped to suit our future requirements.

Update of work to date 1.12.20.

The rear wall and a section of the side of the building has been completely replaced and made watertight, with external battens in preparation of new cladding. The kitchen window has been replaced, along with a new rear security door.

Inside, the new storeroom has been lined and work is underway to paint, ready for the shelving to be reinstated (& filled!)

Inside, the kitchen wall has been prepared ready for plasterboard & finish. When funds allow, we hope to replace the kitchen units and reinstate the sink unit.

Good progress in view of the current restrictions.

As soon as space is cleared in the main Bandroom, and restrictions allow we hope to get back to small group playing.

Should any readers be interested in assisting us financially with any aspect of our redevelopment, please make contact with us, details on the contact page of the website. Thank you.

Update 11.12.20. The walls have been plastered and are now drying out ready for painting.

The exterior cladding has arrived and will be installed when the weather allows.
