May 2019- Walton Civic Service

Tendring Brass had the privilage of playing at this years Tendring District Council Civic Service, held at All Saints’ Parish Church, Walton-on-the-Naze on Saturday 18th May.

The Civic Service was a service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for the work of Tendring District Council, and marked the end of service of the Chairman of the Council Mr Mark Platt, who has held this position for the last two years.

When asked to play at the service by Mr Platt some time ago, the Band were only too willing to support the event as recognition of the tremendous support that Mr Platt has given to the Band over his time in office.

The Band played a selection of pieces as the congregation arrived, and accompanied the hymns during the service.

The Tendring Fanfare, a piece commissioned by Mr Platt for the Pride of Tendring Awards, and composed by former band member Craig Sanders, was also played during the service.

Thankyou Mr Platt for your service to the community of Tendring, and your support of Tendring Brass, the Band hope that this close association with Tendring District Council continues into the future.
