Remembrance Week Tendring Brass Band

Tendring Brass’s 20th year at the Westcliff theatre was a great success after nearly 2 years of isolated, distanced and outside playing. On the afternoon of 7th November, the audience were treated to a musical and visual journey of life for band members during 2020. The concert included excellent solos, which individuals have been perfecting, including Big Spender, Jerusalem, Over the Rainbow and Carrickfergus.  Tendring Brass also accompanied back screened videos which they produced during lockdown.

The band were delighted to be joined once again by Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society for a taster of their joint stage production of Brassed Off showing at the Westcliff theatre, Clacton 25, 26, and 27 November. (Tickets available from the theatre).

As a result of moving our remembrance concert forwards this year it enabled more standards to attend adding to the poignance of the annual act of remembrance.

As well as supporting NHS welfare charities (£320) from ticket sales Tendring Brass donated raffle profits to the local RNLI (£300) and the Royal British Legion took a leaving collection. (£100)

If you attended a memorial service around the Tendring area the following Sunday, 14th November, you will have heard the last post played by one of 14 buglers which we were honoured to provide again this year.

We have a busy schedule planned not only up to Christmas but well into the new year. Join us at the Columbine Centre, Walton on the afternoon of

19th December at 3pm for our family Christmas Concert.(tickets @£5 available on the door).
